RE: Congratulations!!!

WOW! Its been such a great year! I'm so glad its over, but sort of sad that its done. So much memories have been made during this course and I really don't know where to start. We had projects after projects, but it was never boring, all the projects we had I really got to enjoy. From the multiple exposure, the illustrator projects, photoshop, and the movie. I learned so much new techniques, new programs and had so much fun doing it. As i think back on all my assignments, I remember how much I actually put into these projects, but in the end it turned out to be really good.

The multiple exposure, our very first project, i really was such a beginner or in others words a "noob" in photoshop. I kept asking questions and kept playing around with the program to figure things out. It was a lot of fun and my project turned out to look pretty cool. I can now use photoshop quite fluently and i can definitely see how much experience i got within the year.

The circus collage was one of my favorite projects because after learning the basics of photoshop we really got to run wild and have freedom with this project. I played with filters and brushes in the making of the project and my collage was better than i expected. I edited myself to look like a clown and i think i did a good job. It was fun and we were allowed to really run with the wind.

The pattern was fun, but it took so much time and effort. We learned how to use a new program called Illustrator and used it to vectorized images. it was a pretty cool technique and the outcomes are amazing but it takes a lot of time and effort. I was given a shoe, an ipod, and 3d glasses although it wasn't that difficult it still took me a while to do. It was surely fun and in the end my pattern was amazingly cool.

As for the movie which was our final project, it wasn't too hard. I've dealt with videos before and movie maker isn't a new thing for me. I believe that it was our funnest project to do because personally, video is one of my favorite things to make. It was surely time consuming but it was worth it in all ways. our video was seriously hilarious! Justin and I did a great job, months of hard work paid off.

This year was a huge success! I can't believe it went by so fast. Tons of projects, but tons of memories as well. I'll never forget how much i learned from this course, through illustrator, photoshop, film, etc. This really inspired me to continue to take art, such as the film/video course, and even journalism. I can't wait what next year has in stores!

RE: Eccentrick Art Show 2009

I just cant believe that another year just went by. This years art show was one of my favorite art shows ever (I've only taken part in 2 art shows). There was so much to see in this years art show and the theme was amazing. The theme of 'Eccentrick' was really well thought out and it played with your mind.

All the art products showed in in the art show was really well done. From the dresses, the videos and even the big skull piece made by the grade 9's. They really helped express the theme. Somethings really played with your mind like the spinning piece that was flashing lights. That was personally one of my faves because it made you look twice to understand what really was happening.

One of my favorite part of the art show was the 'Hip Hop Eccentrick'. It really help portray Hip Hop in a non violent and creative way. Through rap battles, graffiti and dancing, everyone help bring Hip Hop to life. Talents were shown and it was really exciting.

The art show was a huge success. It really wouldn't have been done without the help of the teachers and students. It was a great week filled with exciting performances and art products. I cant wait to see what next years theme is going to be. It has been a great year

RE: Cell Phone Manners Matter

The invention of the cell phone really change not the teen culture but everyone in the world. Everyone you see in school has a cell phone and you see it being used everywhere in our society. Cell phones are really easy to use and it definitely is fun to play with. You can listen to music, text quick messages, talk for hours and even play games on your cell phone but there should be a certain extent on how much you can use it. Here are my rules that i think are necessary to follow when using cell phones

Rule #1:Do not drive and talk! Driving and talking on the cell phone is very dangerous and distracting. You don't focus on the road the worst thing that can happen is that you can get killed. Theres always time for everything, you can always hang up and call again in a couple minutes. Don't risk it!

Rule #2:Be considerate to the people around you. When you are on your cell phone, try not to scream and shout. We need to remember that there are people around and it can be distracting to people trying to work or do anything else. It's annoying and disrespect to people in the public.

Rule #3:Do not use your cell phone in school. School is a time of learning and cell phones don't do anything but distract you. Its reasonable to use for an emergency but in any other time during school you should turn it off or at least put it on vibrate.

Rule #4:Try to keep your music at a reasonable volume level because it may distract and annoy people. The worst thing ever is sitting beside a person playing music as loud as an amplifier on full blast. Its annoying and is very rude to people in the public.

Rule #5:Know when too much is too much. When using the cell phone is affecting things in your life negatively such as school and work, you know its time to give it a break. Some people can really be addicted to suing cell phones and they need to know that you can be able to live without one.

Cell phones are fun to use but should have its limits. These rules help give boundaries to people and help not only them but everyone in our society. The cell phone has changed our culture and it will continue to grow.

RE: Everything Is Amazing And Nobody's Happy

Ipods
, cell phones, computers, laptops, etc. Wherever you look technology is always there!

Louis C.K., the comedian in the video was hilarious! He really made a point on how generations like me do take technology fro granted. His jokes were funny, it was funny because it was true. People do act that way towards technology, they don't take the time to be grateful for it.

Technology is spreading and its spreading fast. It seems like every day that passes there's always a new version or new model of some sort of technology. When I think about it, we really do take for granted these high tech gadgets. We expect these gadgets to load as fast as the speed of light, we expect it to be high detailed, we expect it to be perfect. We expect so much from these technology and that's not good. We really don't take the time to actually be grateful that these technology actually exists, we should be happy that we even have this sort of gadget and not complain about it for whatever reason. If we look back, people back then had do things the hard way. When it came to sending a message they would have to actually hand write the latter and send it by mail. Now, people can send a message with a click of a button. We need to be grateful and consider the people and the generations ago that didn't have these technologies like us.

As a teen, I am surrounded with technology in a regular basis. Television, mp3 players, computers, cellphones are just a name of few technologies that we teens use a lot. To tell you the truth, i really cant see my self living without any of these technologies. Maybe i can, but life as i know it will be incredibly hard. Messages wont be sent around that easily, social life will sort of also be hard because facebook is a big thing right now, etc. Technology is a big thing for teens like me and it will surely get bigger as time goes on. If you take away technology what else do we really have? Life without technology is like bread without butter, its plain.

What else can technology bring? As time goes on, technology will surely grow bigger. We really don't know what to expect. People thought water powered cars were impossible to make, but it was possible. People thought talking to people in another country was impossible, but the invention of the internet and the phone made it possible. What's next? Who knows? Maybe a robot that is programmed to do school work will be invented. If that ever was invented, I'd surely get one for myself.

RE: Colossal U Ad Campaign

HUH!?

When I first saw the advertisement I just couldn't believe it! I didn't really understand what this university was trying to advertise. With phrases like "New Ideas? New Thinking? Not At Colossal U." It made me think, who would want to go to a university like this? Doesn't this advertisement want to make people not join this university? Can Colossal university be anymore smarter!? It was like no one who went here was treated as a person.

This made me want to visit the website, just to see why or what is really up with this. I went on http://www.colossalu.com/ and it seemed real at first but something popped up. It was like a video or something, and this girl started talking about a university. A university completely opposite what Colossal University was. This university was called Algoma University.

Listening to what Algoma University was made completely forget about Colossal University. After that, I definitely knew what this advertisement was trying to portray. This advertisement was trying to get a viewers attention by saying really bad stuff about the university and it definitely got my attention. It made you want to visit the site and see what was up with this and when you did visit the site it showed you about how good a university like Algoma is compared to Colossal.

I say this advertisement was a very smart way to catch someone's attention. it was a great way to play with your head and it made you want to see why or what is going on with Colossal University. No one wants to go to a university that doesn't welcome you. This advertisement was very unique and it can definitely help make Algoma University known.

RE: Gaming Gone Wild

3.2.1. start!

Video games have been a part of children's lives for generations. People grow up with gameboys, xbox's, playstations, etc. and it's amazing to see how many people use and play video games.

It's always cool to have the latest video games that are out but I really don't see why it's so addicting. Personally, I do have a video game system but i got it when I was 9. Ever since then I never bought a video game. It seemed really pointless and a waste of money. Sure it's fun and all but I definitely could live a life without video games.

Video games are not always bad. It definitely is fun to play video games. The colour, the graphics, the characters, all together help make the game interesting. What's best is playing with your friends. Video games is a great way to have fun and connect with others online. It helps you develop tactics and strategy to solve these puzzles in the game.

Video games to me is fun at times but I wouldn't waste the money for it. Video games can distract you at times and when it affects your school work, you know its time to lay it off. Some people love it some people hate it but video games will always be a part of a teenager's life.

RE: The Campaign Trail

It was intelligent of Obama to take a well known commercial and use it as his own. He kept the same concept and script but he added things that relate to America and its problems to help show how much change they need change.

The first commercial was very humorous, and showed the guys having fun. It seemed perfect, no problems no issues just hanging out having a Bud. "WASSUP!"
"WASSUP!" "WASSUP!"

The commercial Obama made was still sort of humorous but at the same time it brought out a deep message. The guys this time weren't hanging out having a Bud, this time they all each had a problem that America could relate to. Problems included: Unemployment, health care, the war in Iraq, stock's decreasing and environmental issues.

Obama's message explained that America itself needed change. They have so many issues and problems and by voting for him, he could help them. He took a really funny and popular commercial and made it his own by showing America its problems. That's why Obama is the president.

Yes We Can!
